"CHILDREN'S RIGHTS MUST BE RESPECTED DURING ARMED CONFLICTS. " DO YOU THINK THIS IS TRUE? IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?

In 20 million children are displaced because of armed conflicts. In the last ten years, more than two million children have died as a result of conflicts and more than three times that number have been seriously injured. Approximately 28 million are not receiving an education due to armed conflict. These numbers are incredibly high and that’s critical. In my opinion, children’s rights must be respected always but it’s not really happening.

Children’s rights are being violated and that’s not fair. Any armed conflict produces a devastating impact on the life of children. Violations of their rights  do not only affect them, but also the future of our society, because they are the future. Nowadays, a lot of countries are at war, such as, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria and Yemen, and children suffer through a living hell. They lose their families, their houses, they suffer a trauma at a young age and they are being killed. Also, that leads us into the education of the children. They have no access to an education due to armed conflicts, and personally, I think that education and health are the most important issues in the world. Fortunately, there are more and more NGO that are helping these children during these tough times, providing food and education.

In conclusion, due to armed conflicts the future of our society seems uncertain. Wars and conflicts are destroying lives and that’s something that makes me lose the hope in humanity. It seems to me that guns and bombs are not necessary for our everyday life and that the world would be a much better place without them.
